PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

About this mould

Road curbs and median barriers are cast by the kilometre, so the mould has to produce identical profiles on a fast, repeatable cycle — the profile line is what drivers see.

Zhongbian builds curb and crash-barrier moulds from Q235 plate, 3–6 mm thick, with folded or formed profiles, welded ribs and end plates that define joint geometry.

Trapezoidal, New-Jersey and custom profiles are available, with lifting inserts and stacking details built into the mould design so units can be stacked without damage.

ADVANTAGES

Why buyers choose this mould

Profile held by templates

Profile templates are checked against the road design cross section during fabrication and again at trial assembly, so the cast profile matches the drawing rather than the mould maker intention.

End plates form the joint

Machined end plates produce square ends, so successive units line up on the laying line and the joint between units stays tight.

Standard road profiles and project specific ones

Trapezoidal, New Jersey, constant slope and project specific profiles are all built using the same construction approach, so a special profile is not a special project.

Built for the casting length your yard can handle

Moulds are made to the length you can pour, strip and lift, with intermediate stiffening added where long units need it.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Where it works

Curb and barrier moulds serve highway and municipal road programmes, precast yards for bridge barriers, airport aprons and industrial site roads where long runs of identical kerb or barrier units are required.

Roads and medians. Curbs, median barriers and crash barriers for highways, urban roads and industrial access roads, where long runs of identical profile are produced from one mould set.

Airport and yard edges. Apron edges, bunding and yard boundaries use the same profiles, produced to a consistent line and surface finish.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you inquire

Which barrier profiles can you produce?
Trapezoidal, New-Jersey, constant-slope and project-specific profiles — send the road design cross-section and the mould is detailed to it.
How is the profile quality controlled?
Profile templates are checked against the drawing during fabrication and again at trial assembly.
What is the lead time?
Standard profiles ship in 7–10 working days; custom profiles take 15–25 days.
Can you produce a profile from our road design drawing?
Yes. The cross section from the road drawing is enough to start. We send a marked up profile drawing showing finished dimensions and tolerances for confirmation before fabrication begins.
How do you keep very long casts straight?
The mould base is jigged and stiffened and side plates are aligned at trial assembly. For long units we add intermediate stiffening and state the lifting point positions on the drawing.
Is a release agent needed for barrier moulds?
Yes, a standard mould release agent is applied before each cast. Painted faces are smooth enough for a fair finish without further treatment of the cast surface.
