PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

About this mould

Clamp formwork is the light, fast option for small and medium circular columns: two semicircular shells close around the reinforcement, flange bolts tighten, and the column is poured and stripped the same day.

Zhongbian rolls these shells from Q235 plate with stiffening ribs and drilled flanges. Bolt spacing and shell thickness are sized to the pour pressure of your column height.

Sets are stackable for taller columns and available in matched diameter families, so one project can cover several column sizes with a small number of tools.

KEY FEATURES

What you get in the set

  • Two semicircular shells, bolt-tightened flanges
  • Rolled Q235 shells with stiffening ribs
  • Bolt spacing sized to pour pressure
  • Stackable for taller columns
  • Matched diameter families
  • Light weight for fast manual handling
ADVANTAGES

Why buyers choose this mould

Bolt tightened closure with a sealing strip

Flange faces close on a sealing strip and are tightened with a defined bolt sequence, so grout loss at the vertical joint stays controlled across many lifts.

Sized to pour pressure, not just diameter

Shell plate, rib and flange sizes follow the pressure of the tallest pour, not only the column diameter, which is what keeps a tall column round at the bottom.

Machined flange faces

Flanges are machined so the two shells line up and stay round after repeated bolting. Poor flange faces are the main reason clamp sets stop sealing after a few jobs.

Two shells, simple handling

The clamp splits into two halves that a small crane or two operatives can place around reinforcement, so no special rigging is needed on site.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Where it works

Clamp formwork is used for circular building columns, small bridge piers, industrial plant columns and architectural round columns where fast stripping and light handling matter.

Circular columns and piers. Cast in place circular columns, piers, piles and plinths, especially where the formwork has to be closed around reinforcement that is already fixed.

Repair and strengthening work. Column jackets and repairs can be formed with two shells fitted around a standing element, which is rarely possible with a fixed full round shell.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you inquire

What column heights can it handle?
Shells are sized to the pour pressure of your tallest column; stacking height is unlimited as long as the flange bolts are specified accordingly.
How is the joint sealed?
Flange faces are machined and closed on a sealing strip, so grout loss at the joint is controlled.
What is the lead time?
Standard diameter sets ship in 7–10 working days; custom diameters take 15–25 days.
What bolt torque should be used?
Torque depends on bolt size and pour pressure. The recommended tightening sequence and torque are stated on the assembly drawing and the bolts are supplied with the set.
Can the clamp be used for a tall single pour?
Yes. Shells stack and the bolts are specified for the pressure of the full height. On tall pours the bolt pitch is reduced in the lower part of the shell, and this is shown on the drawing.
How is the sealing strip fitted and replaced?
The strip sits in a machined groove on the flange face and is replaced when worn. Replacement strip can be ordered together with the mould so a spare is always in the yard.
